Food Waste Collections Set to Launch Across Lincolnshire

Title: Food Waste Collections Set to Launch Across Lincolnshire

Residents throughout Lincolnshire are preparing for the introduction of food waste collections, with councils confirming the initiative’s onset. Every household in South Kesteven District Council area will be provided with a small indoor caddy and a larger outdoor caddy for weekly collection starting 13 April. Collection caddies will be ready to fill from 6 April. Inhabitants of North Kesteven will see caddy distribution beginning 19 January, while in West Lindsey, distribution commences on 3 February with collection services kicking off 30 March, including in Lincoln. We await further details from the City of Lincoln Council. The scheme’s purpose is two-fold: to turn waste into renewable energy and fertiliser at a specialised plant. County Councillor Rhys Baker drew attention to Lincolnshire’s recycling history and encouraged residents to support this initiative, thereby boosting the county’s sustainability.
