Grimsby Film Spotlights Local Talent, Aiming for UK Festival Success

A recently concluded film project in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, backed by well-known actor Thomas Turgoose, has thrown the spotlight on family relationships. Titled ā€˜Good Man’, the film was both written and directed by Megan Harding, who was keen to feature local actors and showcase the region’s potential for producing top acting talent. Turgoose, who was born in Grimsby and is noted for his role in ā€˜This Is England’, is the executive producer of the movie and is an avid supporter of it. He said, ā€œIt’s a beautifully put together script, very well written, and we’ve assembled a fantastic cast for it.ā€ Turgoose’s enthusiasm for sharing positive stories about Grimsby via the medium of film is evident.

The film was shot partly at Harding’s grandparents’ home in Cleethorpes, a location that was integral to the screenplay. 13-year-old Theo from Grimsby, who has one of the main roles, stated his ambition to follow in Turgoose’s footsteps and work hard to achieve success. This marks his first role in a film. The production team behind ā€˜Good Man’ anticipate it reaching the UK film festival circuit by the end of this year, further bringing Grimsby’s rich talent wealth to the forefront.
