Grimsby Man Jailed for 12 Years for Horrific Crimes Against Young Girl

A 50-year-old man from Grimsby, Patrik Seidenglanz, has been handed a 12-year prison sentence following a conviction for numerous sexual offences against a youngster aged 14. The decision was announced at Grimsby Crown Court after a trial lasting seven days held in October. Seidenglanz was deemed guilty of crimes that included attempted rape, sexual assault on five counts, assault by penetration, and compelling a person to participate in non-penetrative sexual activity. Alongside his incarceration, he has received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.

Humberside Police started the investigation after the victim disclosed the abuse, demonstrating exceptional courage. She disclosed that Seidenglanz had attempted to rape her whilst submitting her to untoward physical contact over multiple instances. As the inquiry advanced, it transpired that the perpetrator had been grooming the minor over a substantial period. Detective Constable Enea Luciano, who spearheaded the case, commended the bravery of the victim and her family for stepping forward, which has ultimately seen Seidenglanz taken into custody. Luciano hopes the sentencing offers a degree of comfort to the victim and her family, acknowledging that whilst it cannot negate the trauma they’ve endured, it ensures Seidenglanz is no longer a threat.
