Heartfelt Tributes Paid to Lincolnshire Brothers Lost in Tragic Accident

A Lincolnshire father has shared a poignant tribute to his ‘two exceptional sons’ who tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Sutton on Sea. Louie Ellis, 8, and his younger brother Mason Ellis, 6, died following a head-on collision in October 2023. Their mother, Amy Sheppard, lost control of the vehicle due to a deflated tyre, resulting in a devastating crash and has been given a suspended 20-month sentence subsequent to pleading guilty to charges of causing death and serious injury through careless driving.

The boys’ father, Laurie Ellis, spoke of his grief and the love he has for his sons, saying, ‘Every space they occupied was filled with their love, laughter, and spirit.’ He talked fondly of their ‘beautiful souls’ and how their kindness and warmth impacted everyone who knew them. Ellis said, ‘Our entire family adored them deeply and treasured noisy, fun and loving weekends together.’

The court also heard that another child, aged four, survived the car crash with injuries, and three adults from the other vehicle were taken to hospital. The Lincolnshire community has been profoundly affected by the tragedy, with numerous locals supporting the bereaved family in this challenging period.
