Man Jailed for Raping Sleeping Woman at Lincoln Caravan Park

Jonathan Stocks, a 48-year-old man from Sheffield, has been imprisoned for nine years for raping a woman while she was asleep at a caravan park near Lincoln. This offence was carried out under the encouragement of his girlfriend at the time, Kimberley Jowle, also from Sheffield, aged 38. The conviction was pronounced after a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.

Furthermore, Jowle was found guilty of aiding in the rape and being involved in two more sexual assaults on the victim, which occurred in the early hours of 28 May 2023. She was given a prison sentence of five years.

A restraining order has also been issued by the court, prohibiting Stocks and Jowle from contacting the victim. The victim expressed the severe impact of their actions on her life in an impactful statement. She pointed out that the trauma they had instilled left her unemployed and perpetually anxious, stating “You violated me in my sleep. The memory of your heinous act haunts me.”

Observing the case, Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight clarified that Stocks played the primary role in planning and executing the crime, but also emphasized that Jowle was thoroughly complicit in these actions.

Detective Constable Warwick Taylor expressed his views on the appalling nature of the crime and the deeply distressing experience inflicted upon the victim; he expressed hope that the decisive verdict might bring some degree of closure for the victim. Displaying commendable resilience despite enduring such trauma, the victim announced her determination to take back control of her life.
