Residents of North Lincolnshire are set for a more streamlined recycling process with the council’s proposal to distribute 70,000 new 240-litre burgundy bins from early next year. Those who prefer to hold on to their existing recycling containers have the option to opt-out by completing an online form. Furthermore, the council will introduce a free, weekly garden and food waste collection in a separate bin, which will run alongside the existing fortnightly regular waste collection. Deputy leader Neil Poole, expressed his confidence in the plan, indicating that procuring bins made in the UK supports domestic industry and assures readiness for the system’s debut in April 2026, thus making recycling more straightforward for households in North Lincolnshire.
