Spalding Travelodge Knife Attacker Jailed for Life

A London-based man has been handed a lifetime sentence for a horrific knife onslaught that transpired in a Travelodge hotel room at Springfields Outlet Centre in Spalding, Lincolnshire. Danny Lodge, 25, executed the attack on a man with autism and ADHD, a vulnerable adult he encountered alongside his partner, Leanne Thornton, 43, exterior to a Spalding-based Wetherspoons. The episode occurred post the pair’s invitation of the victim to Thornton’s hotel dwelling, where crack cocaine and alcohol were consumed. Lodge proceeded to stab the victim on multiple occasions, and Thornton took part in the assault by hurling boiling water at the victim. The victim, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, managed to elude the scene and was subsequently found by police after Lodge thrust him into a local river. Both Lodge and Thornton possess criminal histories and exhibited aggression to law enforcement officers during the process of their arrests. Thornton received a prison term of two years and nine months for her involvement in the attack.
