Sutton on Sea Community Rejoices as Missing Tortoise Returns Home

Bonnie, the two-stone leopard tortoise known for her remarkable speed, delighted her owner and local community when she safely returned home after having gone missing from her enclosure on Tuesday. Lisa Dean, a representative from animal charity Beauty’s Legacy, commended the community spirit in Sutton on Sea, stating, “The level of support was remarkable, with residents actively searching and distributing posters.” It appears that Bonnie disappeared earlier in the week but made her way back on Saturday.

The owner, Liz Curnock, expressed overwhelming joy at Bonnie’s safe return. Both Curnock and Dean suggested the possibility that Bonnie had been kept indoors during the period of her disappearance, given she returned in a notably energetic state. The coordinated effort and attentiveness of the community have been widely acknowledged, as Curnock expressed both relief and gratitude upon Bonnie’s return.
